Auction Talk Radio - what's the story of your stuff?

Welcome to Auction Talk Radio

Auction Talk Radio is intended to be America's first radio show dedicated to auctions, collectibles and eBay. If you are an eBay enthusiast, a garage sale junkie, an antique lover, or just simply want to know what your old stuff is worth, you won't want to miss this show. We were recently guests on KNX Radio here in L.A. and may soon hit the airwaves where you live. Welcome to our website!

Just Some Stuff We Thought You'd Find Interesting ('Cause We Did)

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK...

A 44-year-old amplifier that once belonged to the Beatles, a collection of concert posters from the San Francisco era (the Bill Graham years), and a guitar autographed by Eric Clapton are some of the amazing items in the collection of an Iowa couple who've turned their treasures into a museum and store. Today's Rapid City Journal has the whole story. WOW!

...WE SALUTE YOU!

Just a day after Brett Favre announced his retirement from the NFL, memorabilia, souvenirs and other ephemera relating to the Packers' OB are red-hot. WITI/Milwaukee reports on a scramble to grab a piece of No. 4. The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that "sales are brisk."

WORTHLESS GIFT CARDS DULL SHARPER IMAGE

Gift cards are increasingly popular for holiday giving. A profit center for retailers, gift cards also have a thriving after-market on eBay and other online auctions sites. But one retailer has decided not to honor its gift cards. As Sharper Image tries to reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy it announced this week that it will not allow its gift cards to be redeemed. With more and more retailers experiencing financial difficulties, Sharper Image is not alone. The implied risks to re-sellers are considerable.

In a new development since this story broke on Monday, Pure Pro, makers of those fancy air purifiers sold at Sharper Image, announced today that it will honor Sharper Image gift cards. Some restrictions apply, naturally.

We presume it'll be business as usual once S.I. is "Back in (the) Black."

(Okay, now that we got our AC/DC mojo on, it's back to work):

ASSASSIN'S PISTOL TO GO UNDER THE GAVEL

The .38 caliber Colt Cobra revolver Jack Ruby used to kill accused presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald is going up for auction March 15-16 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. About 150 of the items are associated with President John F. Kennedy or his assassination in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. An Associated Press report was carried widely, but it seems fitting to get the story from the Dallas Morning News.
