Lohan Shows 'Tame Taste' at NYC Red Cross Auction
Sunday, March 09, 2008

She is one of the most-photographed young women in the world, and often what is caught by the lens in candid moments is less than flattering for an actress with so much talent. So, ATR is happy to note that some recent actions by Lindsay Lohan are more befitting Gotham's society pages than its tabloids. On Thursday night (3/6) Lohan hosted a silent auction of 14 photographs in a 42nd Street condo to benefit the American Red Cross.
Far from exemplifying the public persona that has landed her as a favorite focus of a voyeuristic public, Lohan displayed "surprisingly tame taste in art," noted Allen Strouse for ArtInfo.com.
"It seemed as though she purposefully avoided sensational pictures," noted Strouse for his piece, "Lindsay Lohan's Taste Speaks Volumes at Silent Auction."
"The event featured three up-and-coming photographers - Donna Santisi, Gus Freedman, and Zach Hyman -whom Lohan chose herself. Together, the works, with suggested prices in the $1,400 to $2,000 range, present a trilogy of classic subjects: rock 'n' roll, nature scenes, and urban life," Strouse reported.
Though the results of this event won't be known in the next few days, this should be said right now:
"Bravo, Lindsay!"
