Top gourmond will prepare holiday feast for winning bidder
David Duverger, head chef of exclusive restaurant Papillon in the Chelsea district of south-west London, will prepare Christmas Day dinner at the home of the highest bidder this season. The native of France is offering to go anywhere in Britain to prepare a traditional four-course French festive "lunch" for eight. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the chef's favorite charity, Children with Leukemia.
According to the Telegraph, the festivities will commence with after canapes and champagne. the meal will get started with foie gras terrine and mulled pear chutney. The second course of braised turbot with champagne sauce will be followed by a main of chicken stuffed with truffles and winter vegetables ragout.
The meat will be from Bresse in France, which gourmet experts say has the world's finest-tasting chickens.
Dessert will be buche de noel, the traditional log-shaped French Christmas cake.
Duverger will arrive at the winner's home on Christmas Day morning in time to serve lunch at 1pm and says he can cope no matter the size of the kitchen.
Bidding will start at 800 pounds, approx $1200.
