Win This Auction and You Might Sing "I Got Two, Babe"

Sony & Cher's 'His and Hers' 1966 Mustangs are Headed to the Block

Marking the first time they have come to market in 25 years, the 1966 Ford Mustangs George Barris customized back in the day for Sonny & Cher will be auctioned off by RM Auctions Feb. 6-8 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Barris, the legendary customizer, was commissioned by Ford to dress up the "his and hers" Mustangs for Sonny and Cher. They were used for publicity and appeared in the film "Good Times," the duo's only full-length movie together. The singing couple apparently drove the cars for a time and then they reverted to the possession of Barris.

According to WLTW, the Sonny car has a Murano gold pearl exterior color, dark brown side panels and an orange-and-gold "fadeaway" color treatment on the wheelwells and grille. The Cher car is a hot pink pearl and candy red blend with deep red side panels. Each car also features the owner's name painted on the side.

Despite all of this, what apparently sets these cars apart is what happens inside. According to Edmunds Inside Line, "a look at the interior should seal the impression of rococo '60s splendor. Sonny's Mustang has bobcat fur, buffed leather and 'rustic suede' trim inside. Cher's is dripping with white ermine, hot pink suede and 'Scottish leather' upholstery. Did we mention the 3-inch-long Mouton carpet - gold in the Sonny mobile and pink for Cher's car?"

The cars won't be the only taste of Hollywood to appear at the Fort Lauderdale show. The show will also feature several versions of the Batmobile, one of the "General Lee" Dodge Chargers from the "Dukes of Hazard" movie and the jet black 1980 Lamborghini LP400S "Cannonball Run" Countach.
