Deja Vu All Over Again: Ex-Obama Chrysler is Back on the Block

Illinois man hopes for pay dirt with sale of president-elect's former car

Last month we brought you the story of an Illinois man who was attempting to use eBay to sell the 2005 Chrysler 300 once owned by Barrack Obama. Despite bids approaching $120,000, the car failed to sell. Now Timothy O'Boyle is trying again. Hoping to really cash in on the white-hot Obama souvenir market, the Chicago man has eyes on a big pay day. He has put the car back on eBay Motors with a minimum starting bid of $100k and a "Buy It Now" of $1 million.

As of the time of this posting, the auction was up to $150,300 on 19 bids.

Obama took heat during the presidential campaign for driving the gas guzzler, which features GPS, a moonroof and leather interior. He bought it at Park Plaza Dodge in Forest Park, Ill., in 2004 and drove it until 2007, when he traded it in for a more environmentally friendly Ford Escape Hybrid.

The former Obama car has its own web site, which includes a photo gallery, from whence we get the photo that accompanies this piece.

MORE: We also found something truly unique that will, unlike a mundane sedan, really show your support for the next president of the U.S. of A. It is billed as a Dodge Ram Van Obama Mobile - a converted 2000 Dodge van painted with colors and graphics showing support for Mr. Obama with slogans like "Vote for change." As of this posting the auction was just hours away from expiration with no bids for the van, with 88,000 miles on the odometer, which has a starting bid of $15,000.
