Report: eBay has Stopped Accepting Amazon's Bill Me Later Payments
Friday, January 02, 2009
From the Triad Business Journal:
Amazon.com Inc. has stopped accepting payment through eBay Inc.'s Bill Me Later system, according to reports Wednesday.
Seattle, Wash.-based Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) most likely decided to wait until after the holiday season to stop the service, company watchers speculated.
San Jose-based eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) bought Bill Me Later for about $1 billion in October; before that Amazon owned a 10 percent stake in the company.
Investment bank Friedman Billings Ramsey said Amazon on Tuesday let merchant partners know about the change, which went into effect Wednesday.
